Nantahala Gorge Canopy Tours

Nantahala Gorge Canopy Tours is the first zipline canopy tour in the Nantahala Gorge area of Western NC through the mountainous property of Falling Waters Adventure Resort. 11 zips and 5 sky bridges combine for over 1/2 mile of high flying fun on our newest adventure activity.
Experience the excitement and beauty of sailing through the air amongst the trees in Western North Carolina! Canopy Tours are a spectacular way to experience flight and enjoy the outdoors with an added element of adventure and excitement. It takes limited energy to participate. It is not designed to scare with big drops as much as excite with smooth gliding. A moderate uphill trail leads you to the entrance of the tour. One additional short hike takes you to the final 2 zips back to our wooded pavilion.

The Setting
Located 75 miles west of Asheville in the Nantahala River Gorge, Falling Waters Adventure Resort is a unique 22 acre outdoor haven with lodging options for groups and families. Our Yurt Village is glamorous camping (called Glamping.) A Yurt is a circular Mongolian-inspired structure made of a durable canvass. Expect a comfortable night sleep with all the amenities you might expect in a traditional hotel room. The setting is pristine and natural with 2 ponds, a waterfall, and views of Fontana Lake below the cliffs at Falling Waters.

The Course
You begin on the highest ridge at Falling Waters Resort and gradually make your way down a lush valley toward Fontana Lake and the Yurt Village. Between each platform you will glide at a steady speed across the valley below and amongst the trees. You will not be dropping but sailing across the canopy lines as you enjoy both the exhilaration of flying and the scenery of this valley. At the end of the valley you will cross over to experience two final zip lines from the ridge above the Yurt Village back up the second valley. The entire adventure will take about 3 1/2 hours.

Cost
Cost varies depending upon group size but will range from $69 to $79 per person and includes two Canopy Rangers, a full body harness, a 2 wheeled zip line trolley, helmet, and gloves.

Requirements
You must be at least age 10, you must be able to raise their arms overhead to self regulate speed and braking, and be in reasonably good physical condition.
